Spirals in Nature

The DNA molecule is twisted into a double spiral, known as a double helix.

On this project we talked about the spirals shown above and thought of other spirals in Nature:
· A snake's coil
· A snail's shell
· A hurricane or typhoon
· Water going down the plug-hole!
· A finger print (whorl)
· Hair growing from the crown on our heads
· Ringlets
· A pig's tail
· The inner ear (cochlea)
· A fern tendril uncurling

Can you think of any more?
