This sculpture is made totally
out of man-made materials - wire, piping, plastic, film cassettes - but
it has the shape of an orchid. What does this tell us? Why is it positioned
among natural things? What does it say about itself and the things around
it? It was made by using a large gas pipe on its side, with holes drilled
into it and cut pieces of waste materials added. Throughout the process
thought was given to its shape in organic, rather than industrial terms.
It is supported by a steel pole, driven into the ground.
