| This
forlorn looking figure has sat in the back row of the Nature Reserve's open
air promenade theatre. Made of willow on an "armature" or frame, he
is also called "Waiting for the New Season". He is a little like Rodin's
famous sculpture "The Thinker". He raises the question, what is he
really waiting for, a return to nature by decay, his branches to spring to life
or simply the next play in the theatre?
In the making process, the artist, Paul Goodrick, had to be aware of what the finished piece would look like in its setting. Although it is made from nature, it strangely does not seem to be part of it. |
