Project title: Town and Country - Houses and Nature
The project has direct relevance to Ashford, as a town where there is
a lot of housing growth. People need houses to live in, but this uses
up space occupied by nature. There is both a conflict and a relationship
which can be examined through art.
The project covers
1. The use of natural, sustainable materials for drawing directly in
the landscape. Using basic shapes and patterns to illustrate ideas. How
other artists and children have done this. Types of materials, what to
use and what not to use, respect of nature and the landscape, tactile,
visual experiences, as well as smell and hearing are covered. An indication
of which methods work best.
2. Reference to other subject areas, so that the art project itself can
be a link, as well as a new stimulation. Subject areas: houses we live
in, growth and decay, the use of photography as a record.
3. Understanding links between creative work and exploring the environment
and an awareness of the world around us.
4. Learning from others - artists, teachers and other children through
group work. |
